Buyers who are just starting out with FIBC or who are just beginning to realize how useful FIBC can be for shipping/storing products is asked the following 6 questions:
1. What is coating film?
Coating film, which is an additional polypropylene film, is added to the fabric of the bag to seal small gaps in the polymer tissue. The coating film can be added to the inside or outside of the bag. The coating film can also play the role of moisture-proof and leak-proof. For some products with high leak-proof requirements, multi-layer base fabric is a better choice. However, neither the coating film nor the multi-layer base fabric will ensure that the bag is 100% waterproof and leak-proof.
2. How many products can the container bag hold?
The manufacturing Safe Working Load (SWL) for jumbo bags varies from 1000 to 4000 lbs. Some special bags are made to withstand 5,000 pounds, but these are uncommon and hard to find.
3. How many products can the container bag hold?
The manufacturing Safe Working Load (SWL) for jumbo bags varies from 1000 to 4000 lbs. Some special bags are made to withstand 5,000 pounds, but these are uncommon and hard to find.
4. Is FIBC recyclable?
FIBC is made of polypropylene and are recyclable. Recycling is generally only available for businesses that use a lot of bags or are able to store used bags for long periods of time.
5. Can the container bag be reused?
FIBC can be reused under certain conditions. In order to reuse bags, they must have a safety factor ratio (SFR) of 6:1.
6. What does 5:1 and 6:1 in SF mean?
Most woven polypropylene bags are single-use. These single-use bags are rated at a 5:1 safety factor (SFR), which means they can withstand volumes up to five times their rated safe working load (SWL). However, for safety reasons, we do not recommend filling a bag with a safe working load. Some polypropylene FIBC is made for multiple uses. These multi-use bags are rated for a 6:1 safety factor ratio, meaning they can withstand up to 6 times their safe working load. Again, for safety reasons, we do not recommend filling a bag with a safe working load.
