Causes and preventive measures of static electricity in large bags

Jan 01, 2023

Ton bags, also known as container bags, are a preferred method for powdered goods or long-distance transported goods and commodities. Static electricity will occur in storage. Next, I will tell you about the reasons for static electricity in Jiangxi ton bags. and preventive measures.

Reasons: One is the internal reason, that is, the conductivity of the material; the other is the external reason, that is, the friction, rolling and impact between materials. Many commodity large bags have inherent conditions to generate static electricity. In addition, during the storage process, operations such as handling, stacking, and covering are also essential. Therefore, friction, rolling, impact and other phenomena will inevitably occur between the big bags. The plastic packaging of general commodities is prone to static electricity due to mutual friction during stacking. The electrostatic hazard generated during the storage of large bags accumulates on the surface of the large bags, forming a high electrostatic potential and easily generating static sparks. For example, during the handling process, electrostatic high-potential discharges will cause electric shock discomfort to operators, and often occur in warehouses when handling plastic-packed goods. During the process of handling and stacking, due to the large friction force, electrostatic high-potential discharge occurs, and even the phenomenon of electrostatic discharge knocking down the operator occurs.

Preventive measures: To take appropriate measures to make the generated static electricity disappear as soon as possible, we can set up a grounding wire in the warehouse, often sprinkle water on the warehouse to maintain a certain humidity, or place a conductive floor under the goods. Try to reduce the shaking in and between the tons of bags, reduce conflicts, and also change the way of loading and unloading. In some cases, the accumulation of static electricity is unavoidable, and the rapid rise of static voltage may even generate static sparks. At this time, even if the discharge occurs, measures should be taken to prevent the occurrence of explosion accidents. For example, inject inert gas into the storage space of flammable liquids, install alarm devices, and use exhaust devices to make flammable gases or dust in the air explode.
