Ton bags, also known as container bags, space bags, ton bags, etc. It is a flexible transport packaging container that can transport bulk powder and granular materials in a unitized manner. It has the characteristics of large volume, light weight, and easy loading and unloading. Ton bags are usually made of high-strength plastic materials, such as polypropylene.
According to different usage scenarios and different densities of goods, ton bags can be divided into various models such as round and square. Equipped with cranes or forklifts, it is convenient for loading and unloading and handling of goods, greatly improving the efficiency of cargo loading and unloading.
The main purpose of ton bags is to hold various forms of materials such as powder, granules, and blocks, such as chemical raw materials, plastic particles, building materials, and grain. The use of ton bags can achieve large-scale material transportation and storage and improve logistics efficiency.
The total weight of bulk cargo loaded in ton bags in a container cannot exceed the rated load of the container. The specific container deadweight, load and total weight mark can be found on the container door. According to the container load limit and the situation of one ton of cargo per ton bag, usually each general 40-foot container can load 26 ton bags.
The weight of ton bags needs to be evenly distributed in the container to avoid local overweight affecting transportation safety. There are mainly two types:
One is to directly use a crane or forklift to lift the ton bag cargo into the container for stacking;
The second is to place the ton bag cargo on a pallet and load it into the container as a container unit for stacking (this is generally the case when the consignor, port of departure or destination country has special loading and unloading requirements for bagged cargo).
1) Center loading principle. Every two ton bags are in a row, with no gaps between the ton bags and loaded in the center along the longitudinal center line of the container. The gap between each row of cargo and the side wall of the container is reinforced accordingly.
2) Two-sided loading principle. Every two ton bags are in a row, with the left and right ton bags close to the inner wall of the container, and the gap between the two ton bags is reinforced accordingly.
Ton bag cargo in the container mainly uses square wood, wooden frames and inflatable bags as reinforcement materials between the cargo or between the container wall. If the ton bag cargo is not loaded in the box according to the principle of left and right or center, and there is no pulling or blocking measures, and the ton bag cargo is a flexible packaging transport container, the ton bag cargo is likely to shift or tilt during transportation or loading and unloading. Especially in railway container transportation, it may also cause a certain degree of unbalanced loading safety hazards.
1) Ton bag quality inspection: Ensure that the ton bag is not damaged and has sufficient strength to avoid rupture during loading and unloading, resulting in material loss.
2) Prevent sharp objects: Check the box before packing to avoid sharp objects in the container from contacting the ton bag to avoid scratching the ton bag.
3) Fixing measures: Use appropriate reinforcement materials or fixing devices to firmly fix the ton bag in the container to prevent shaking and displacement.
4) Moisture-proof: If the material is sensitive to moisture, take appropriate moisture-proof measures.
