There are four classifications of ton bag, which are very helpful for us to understand ton bags, jumbo bags, and flexible FIBCs.
Type A Ton Bag
Type A Ton Bag is made of plain weave polypropylene and other non-conductive fabrics. When the product is full/empty, static electricity is generated as the product moves or rubs against the inner surface of the container bag. Type A FIBC has no electrostatic protection.
Type A bulk bags can safely transport non-flammable products. There should not be any flammable solvents or flammable gases around the Type A container bag.
Type A Ton Bag can be used to transport non-flammable products. There are no flammable solvents or flammable gases around the bag.
Do not use A-type bulk bags: transport flammable products. When there are flammable solvents or gases around the bag. It cannot be used in a flammable environment with minimum ignition energy ≤ 1,000mJ.
Type B Ton Bag
Type B Ton Bag are similar to Type A Ton Bags because they are also made of plain woven polypropylene fabric or other non-conductive materials. Type B bag does not have any function of discharging static electricity.
The difference between Type A and Type B Ton Bag is that Type B Ton Bag is made of materials with low breakdown voltage to prevent the occurrence of high-energy, dangerous propagation-shaped brush discharge accidents. Although B-type bulk bags can prevent spreading brush-shaped discharges, they are usually not used as anti-static bulk bags because they will not eliminate electrostatic charges.
Safe use of B-type Ton Bag: transport dry, flammable powder. There are no flammable solvents or gases around the bulk bag. Used in dusty environments with ignition energy less than 3mJ.
Do not use B-type bulk bags: when there are flammable solvents or gases around the bulk bag.
Type C container bag
Type C Ton Bag is also called conductive FIBC or groundable FIBC. The C-type Ton Bag is made of non-conductive polypropylene fabric with conductive filaments interlaced in the woven fabric, usually in the shape of a grid. These conductive wires must be connected to conduct electricity and be grounded during the filling operation. In filling and discharging operations, the connection with the ground is very important for the safe use of C-type bulk bags.
Safe use of C-type FIBC: transport flammable powder. When flammable vapor, gas or combustible dust is present.
Do not use C-type bulk bags: when the ground connection is not present or has been damaged. When there is resistance from any part of the FIBC to the ground.
Type D Ton Bag
The D-type bulk bag is made of anti-static and anti-static fabric, designed to safely prevent sparks, brush discharges and spreading brush discharges without connecting the bulk bag to the ground.
D-type bulk bags, are made of fabric containing quasi-conductive yarns, which can emit static electricity into the atmosphere through safe, low-energy corona discharge. D-type Ton Bag can safely pack combustible products and handle products in flammable environments.
Safe use of D-type Ton Bag: transport flammable powder. When flammable vapor, gas or combustible dust is present.
Do not use D-type Ton Bag: when the surface of Ton Bag is contaminated or coated with conductive material (such as grease or other flammable and/or combustible materials).
