Usage scenarios of ton bags

Jul 28, 2026

Ton bags (also known as flexible container bags, FIBC) are widely used in many industries due to their large carrying capacity (0.5-3 tons), low cost, and reusability.

The following are the main usage scenarios and points that require special attention:

Usage scenarios
1. Industrial field

Chemical industry: storage and transportation of powdery and granular chemical raw materials (such as fertilizers, plastic granules).
Mining: loading bulk materials such as ore and coal.
Building materials: transporting cement, sand and gravel, gypsum powder, etc.
2. Agricultural field

Grain storage: loading wheat, corn, soybeans and other grain crops.
Feed: transporting animal feed ingredients.
3. Logistics and warehousing

Ports and terminals: cargo transfer, loading and unloading.
Warehouse: Temporary storage of bulk materials.
4. Food and medicine

Food-grade ton bags: store sugar, salt, flour and other food raw materials.
Pharmaceutical intermediates: transporting materials with sterility or moisture-proof requirements.
5. Environmental protection and recycling

Waste processing: loading industrial waste, recycling plastics, etc.

Attention

1. Materials and safety
Material selection: Choose PP (polypropylene) or PE (polyethylene) material according to the material characteristics.
Example: Chemical raw materials require anti-static ton bags, and food requires food-grade materials.
2. Loading and Stability

Load limit: Strictly abide by the load capacity (SWL, Safe Working Load) of the ton bag to avoid overloading.
Stacking height: Stack in a single layer or no more than 2 layers to prevent the bottom ton bag from deforming under pressure.
3. Environmental adaptability

Temperature and humidity: Avoid high temperatures (>40℃) or humid environments to prevent material aging or mildew.
Lighting: Avoid direct sunlight. Ultraviolet rays will accelerate the aging of materials.
4. Transportation and operation

Transportation tools: When using a forklift or crane, make sure the sling or rope is in the center and avoid hanging at an angle.
Operation specifications: It is prohibited to drag, rub or shake the ton bag strongly to prevent the sling from breaking.
5. Storage and protection

Storage environment: Dry, ventilated, away from fire sources and chemicals.
Protective measures: Cover with tarpaulin to prevent moisture, and check regularly to prevent insects and rats.
6. Special material requirements

Food-grade ton bags: need to have no odor, and insect-proof measures need to be strengthened.
Chemical ton bags: need to be anti-static, fire-proof, and avoid contact with flammable materials.

Summary and suggestions

Material: Choose the appropriate material for the ton bag according to the material characteristics, and ensure that it meets relevant standards.
Operating regulations: Strictly abide by handling and storage regulations to avoid human damage.
Periodic inspection: Establish an inspection system to regularly check the integrity of ton bags.
Environmental control: The storage environment needs to be dry, ventilated, and free from high temperature, humidity and light.
Through scientific use and maintenance, ton bags can significantly reduce material loss and safety risks, and extend their service life.
