Type A, B, C, and D of bulk bags

Apr 19, 2023

Type A, B, C, and D are four different types of bulk containers or flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs), commonly called a bulk bag. The main difference between these types is in the intended use and handling.

Type A FIBCs are made from non-conductive materials and are intended for use with non-flammable products. They can create a static electricity discharge during filling and discharging, which can cause a fire or explosion if they come into contact with flammable products.

Type B FIBCs are also made from non-conductive materials, but they are made with antistatic properties to prevent static electricity discharge. These bags are suitable for use with flammable products such as solvent-based paints, fuels, and chemicals.

Type C FIBCs are made with conductive materials and grounding wires. They are designed for use with flammable and explosive products that generate electrostatic charges during filling and discharging but are not sensitive to electrical sparks.

Type D FIBCs are made with special static protective fabrics that prevent the generation of potentially hazardous static charges, eliminating the need for grounding wires. These bags are suitable for use with sensitive powders, combustible dust, and hybrid mixtures.

In summary, the main difference between Type A, B, C, and D FIBCs is in their intended use, with each type designed to prevent static electricity discharge and reduce the risk of fire or explosion based on the type of product being transported or stored.
