How to Prevent Ton Bag Aging?

Oct 25, 2025

Ton bags come into contact with a wide range of products in our daily lives, as any product needs packaging to be marketed. Therefore, regardless of the packaging material, they are prone to aging and cracking after long-term use due to both external and internal factors. This naturally indicates that new packaging is needed. Therefore, preventing ton bag aging is extremely important, but many people are not well aware of this.

How to Prevent Ton Bag Aging?

1. Ultraviolet rays are the primary cause of aging.
Because ton bags are frequently exposed to the elements during storage, transportation, and use, the high energy content of ultraviolet rays in sunlight can promote the generation of free radicals and hydroxides, leading to molecular chain breakage in polypropylene and a reduction in the ton bag's tensile strength. Local temperature and humidity differences should also be considered.

2. Photooxidation.
Photooxidation occurs through two sources:
First, direct sunlight;
Second, indirect sunlight, due to reflection from water vapor and dust in the air.
Both of these primary sources contain infrared rays, which can lead to various oxidants and easily degrade polymers. Do not underestimate the impact of these factors. Over time, we will see increasing aging of food-grade ton bags.
