The revised national standard GB/T 10454-2025, "Flexible Medium Bulk Containers for Packaging Non-Dangerous Goods," officially came into effect on March 1, 2026, marking a new stage of development for my country's packaging industry. This new standard integrates and replaces the older versions GB/T 10454-2000 and GB/T 37425-2019, achieving a systematic upgrade and optimization of the standard and helping the industry align with international advanced standards.
The new standard integrates two previous standards for the first time, precisely aligning with the international standard ISO 21898:2024. While improving product performance and safety, it promotes the internationalization of my country's packaging container standards. Key upgrades include the addition of anti-static performance requirements to effectively ensure safety during transportation and storage; strengthened material recycling and the use of recycled materials, actively responding to the concept of green and environmentally friendly development; improved product dimensions and testing methods to enhance product quality reliability and consistency; and standardized product labeling to improve information transparency and traceability.
The implementation of the new version of GB/T 10454-2025 will guide enterprises to continuously innovate and upgrade their technologies, stimulate industry vitality, and promote industrial upgrading. Through standard guidance, it will promote the widespread application of advanced technologies and environmentally friendly materials, further improving the safety performance and environmental friendliness of flexible medium-sized bulk containers. The overall improvement in the industry's technical level and environmental standards will help my country's packaging industry become more competitive in the global market.
